Walter Hill + Bob Gale & Robert Zemeckis = masterpiece

For throwback Thursday, here's a link to the first piece of film writing I ever published, a review of Walter Hill's TRESPASS for the Chicago Reader. I wouldn't stand by most of what I said or how I said it today, particularly when it comes to my embarrassingly wrong dismissals of MALCOLM X and BOYZ N THE HOOD, though if anything Hill's masterpiece has only grown in my estimation over the years. One of the best movies he ever directed from one of the best scripts Bob Gale and Bob Zemeckis ever wrote, which is really sayinhg something. Read the review at the Reader's website HERE.
